Stayed here for a week. Front desk staff is super friendly and helpful. The hotel is close to major subway lines. Situated in a nice neighborhood. Restaurants / bakeries / convenience stores nearby.
The room was lager than I’m used to for NYC. I’ll consider Sonder Duane Street again for my next visits to NYC.

Hotel is very cute — clean, modern, good location. Staff is super friendly and also very helpful. We had an issue with the windows – they had them open because their AC broke and we were told you need two people to close those windows (it’s two big windows, so we could not get them properly closed by ourselves) and unfortunately one of the attendants was not available until after our check out. They offered to move us into a different room but we did not like the option available so they offered us a discount. It was very thoughtful and this is why even tho we did have that one issue, I would still recommend the hotel. It’s very good for what you pay – they have a coffee bar coming soon and also a comfortable lobby area + lockers for your luggage. Would come back 🙂

The hotel was conveniently located near the New York Law School where I was attending a conference for work. The staff is helpful and friendly and several subway lines are short walk away. All and all, great value for the room's rate. The only downside is that there is no fitness facilities (but who am I kidding, I probably wouldn't have used them anyway given the fact that I was here busy on business). I will consider staying here again in the future if my business is downtown.

Reasonably priced hotel, in the heart of Chinatown and close to Financial district, Little Italy and Soho. No parking at this facility. If you're driving here, find a parking garage on your own. I repeat, NO PARKING.

Also keep in mind, Mulberry street is very busy. There's a couple of funeral places on this block and they take up a lot of spaces.

Perfect hotel to crash and rest up and check out Chinatown.

Is this an outright 5* luxury hotel? Of course not – it's 3* in terms of strict classification, but what it sets out to do, it does very well. Prices are exceptionally competitive for Manhattan and staff are consistently cheerful, helpful and friendly. Rooms and communal areas are clean and well-lit, if not the most polished. The hotel feels secure and welcoming.

Beds are very comfortable with generously thick pillows. Water pressure is good, and water temperatures are reasonable (though seems to vary a little with time of day).

A couple of minor quibbles, but nowhere near important enough to knock it down a star given what it does right. Firstly, the AC seemed to be temperamental. Fortunately, it was winter, so opening the window cooled down the room more than adequately. Secondly, TVs are dated models with limited channels, but if you're sitting in an NYC hotel room whining about the TV when you should be out doing something in the greatest city in the world then your priorities are askew.

WiFi appears to be reliable and of acceptable speed.

All in all, against expectations for the budget and location, it really performs very well. Would happily recommend for those on a budget or who want to be in the thick of the Mott St. end of Chinatown.

The queen room was extremely small, even for New York. If I was on a solo trip it would have been fine but two people made it a little tight with luggage. Other than that, the front desk staff was so nice! I was able to check in early and they were very helpful. Also, it’s a great location in a quieter part of the city, and close to soho and everything we wanted to do!

The staff at the Smyth Hotel Tribeca recognized that they were still building a few features into amenities of the hotel but they made up for that in their impeccable service and cleanliness of the rooms and common areas. My sister and I traveled there 2 weeks back and we loved the space, the bed was comfortable and the staff went out of their way on multiple occasions to help us out with restaurant reservations and things we needed during our stay. We both agreed, that not only was it in an ideal location to get to everything we planned for our trip, but we would also come back and stay here again in a heartbeat! Good service can be hard to come by and they were not short of that at all during our stay. Thank you so much SMYTH Tribeca Team! Ps. the lobby smells great and the decor is beautiful, they have done a great job with this little home away from home!

First let me start with the Employees at Smith Tribeca were Absolutely WONDERFUL. Everyone was so nice, answered questions and helped us find our way around the city. They helped us check in a little earlier which was great since we landed in NYC at 7 AM and everyone was exhausted. The hotel is decent and it's rooms are good. Unfortunately we found a giant ROACH in the shower during our second night. It took two maintenance employees to resolve the issue after I trapped it with an overturned glass. The hotel decor is nice and the hotel location in the Financial district is close to Wall St, the 911 Memorial and many others sites. Due to Covid the restaurant and bar are closed. While I loved the employees I don't think I will stay at Smith Tribeca again in the future.

From the minute we got out of the Uber, Mark promptly greeted us and introduced me to the front desk receptionist Bo. Mark took us to our room and made sure it was too are liking. The room had a view overlooking the city, was pleasantly decorated, modern and clean. Offered complementary Crunch Gym day pass 6 blocks away. Everything you could want at a fair price.

The Roxy is a solid hotel. What brings me back isn’t the rooms—which have modern decor, wood paneling and gorgeous views; or the bar which frequents live jazz bands, or the central location seconds away from the canal street ACE stop, but it’s the staff and the consistency that management puts into making every guest feel welcome.

The Roxy goes above and beyond both in customer service when booking a reservation directly from the hotel, and will often find a way to upgrade you or discount your room if you’re a returning guest, and the lobby staff is always smiling and ready to assist you. Their room service is good, and though not extremely plant based or vegan friendly, but the quality is good for the price, and definitely saves you a night of looking for a spot in tribeca, and offers you some privacy during your stay. Overall I couldn’t recommend the hotel more if it’s your first or your hundredth time in the big apple. 5 stars.

The Roxy is such a vibrant and hip hotel! It surpassed my expectations!! The front desk, management, room service all took great care of us. We booked the hotel along with few friends and family members to celebrate my wife's birthday who all had an amazing time. The rooms are exceptionally clean. Love how they all open up looking into the atrium. So many great entertainment options and the location is perfect! The team at Roxy is very friendly and want you to have a great time! They went above and beyond to help us celebrate! Thank you!!

I loved my stay at the Sheraton on Canal street in Tribeca great rooms, spacious, well planned and thought out. The location is really great lots of shops, restaurants and easy access by walking or the subway. Staff were awesome and good customer care. My only problem was the incidental refunds for international customers they need to do something about it. They even gave me a little fridge for my room. All in all an excellent excellent experience and location. 😊

Reading some of the other reviews after spending a few nights there this week, I can understand why a fair amount are 2 or 3.

My girlfriend got locked in the bedroom (separate bedroom from seating area), and got extremely nervous since there was no handle to way to access the other side of the room and felt trapped. I had to call security to come unlock the door for her. The solution was to keep the deadbolt extended…

The room, especially during the morning hours, was extremely loud. There is practically no sound proofing, and the hotel has very thin walls. I wouldn't expect to sleep past 7 or relax in the mornings. There are also loud and persistent alarms coming from somewhere close outside that went off multiple times during our stay, one time for over an hour at midnight.

Overall, the general decor and design is modern and nice, but you can see the rooms are starting to show their age. The rooms are very basic – no coffee, fridge, ice markers are nowhere to be found. There's a $45 daily resort fee, and they didn't even put bottles of water in the rooms.

Everything felt more 3 star rather than 4. Next time, we'll stay around the corner for about the same price.

We had an upper floor with north east view corner. The view is magnificent. Nice to see city while you shower. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Lobby space is pretty as in the pictures. the food in the restaurant is good. Location is excellent, with access to subways to anywhere in the city and so much to walk to. I much prefer this part of Manhattan for hotels instead of Times Square.
The restaurants that you find nearby seem to be a better deal and more interesting and Scaled smaller / more intimately. I wish the government made prices reflect all the little add-ons though. It’s not nice to be tricked By amenity fees. I guess that’s how things are done.

Great location for where I needed to be (Ghostbusters HQ, of course), good room size for Manhattan. I did find a used drinking cup under the bed, so room service was perhaps not as thorough as one might like, but if that's all I'm complaining about, this wasn't all bad. Will stay again.

Super great price, friendly staff, amazing location. It was only $115 for a queen sized room! We had recently tried to book a room at a different hotel and the lowest price they had was $438! Can you believe that? Anyways the room we stayed at was very clean, very cozy, and the man who attended us at the front desk was incredibly friendly. The only real complaint I had was that after 5 all the local restaurants seemed to be closed 😅. But when we woke up this morning we had breakfast at the landmark cafe and loved it! Super affordable and great food. Overall an amazing experience and we will be coming back! Much love to the staff

The rooms were very dirty, I found hairs in my bed and in the bathroom. The room was also very dusty. Overall it felt really unclean. I booked a queen room but was given a double with two beds instead, not the worst thing, but it’s not what was booked.

The beds are comfortable, and the shower pressure is good (bath / shower combo), although the water didn’t drain very well. Towels were clean, although one hand towel had makeup stains on it.

Guests can grab a free Starbucks filter coffee in the morning (from the lobby), but there are no other amenities.

Area is good for getting around, lots of nice cafes, restaurants and shops close by.

Owner Robert De Niro’s father was a world-class artist. How lucky for guests that so many great works hang in the common rooms (ok, I admit I’ve taken home a few of the drink coasters that feature the art). One of the only hotels where I really like the courtyard-view rooms. Relaxed, understated, luxury vibe throughout. Hats off to the great staff. Would be even better if the menu had more vegetarian and vegans options and/or if the kitchen was more willing to work with guests to, for example, add vegetables to pasta dishes.

The Greenwich Hotel is stunning to say the very least. Its beauty however is not the reason that I ran to Google to offer a rave review. Paul at the front desk was hands down, the most inviting, friendly, over and above hotel employee that I have ever encountered. I appreciated the time that he took to show me how to manipulate the room key and also point out the spaces that I could utilize as a guest. Thank you, Paul!!

Beautiful hotel but my main comments are;

We had a daily breakfast credit, which we forwent because it was not good. At all.

You can’t get room service or even a beer after 11pm.

The in-room snacks and mini fridge were very basic options you could literally buy at a cvs.

Beautiful hotel!!! The view was amazing!! Such a great area to be because the subway, stores and restaurants are very close. The 9/11 memorial is visible from the hotel. It wasn't very expensive considering the location, how pretty the hotel is and that it's New York. The staff are very friendly. The hotel is very safe when you go late at night they ask you to show hotel keys to make sure you are actually a guest there which I find very reassuring. The food at the hotel is very expensive instead go out for breakfast. I recommend Stage Door Delicatessen which is right by the hotel! Amazing food, staff and environment!!!

I have been to the Sun Btight Hotel once about a decade ago, when i was considering renting a room for a reasonabke rate. The rates were not reasonable for what they were attempting to rent out as rooms. At the moment, I do not really recall what i was shown, but to this day, i still see chicken wires as room dividers and uou could see everyone and their business.

I was so disappointed with the Sun Bright Hotel, I did not end up renting anything even for as short a term as a few weeks.

I have been to youth hostels all over Europe including Eastern Europe, and ot is night and day.

Great place to stay as far as location goes if visiting lower Manhattan. Within walking distance of subways and ferries. Right on bus line. Small hotel, we drove by it the first time. Staff friendly and helpful. Only issue we had is that we stayed 2 nights and housekeeping did not come to pick up our garbage in the rooms between our nights there. YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO LAY DOWN IN LOUNGE CHAIRS when pool reopens to public at 3pm or 5pm (weekends and weekdays, respectively)

I paid about $400 a night here. In town to work and care for my ailing mother. I look forward to being able to recline in a lounge chair by the pool with a margarita after a stressful day of work and caretaking. I was very surprised when I was told that I was not allowed to lay down in the lounge chair at 3:30pm. Come again?

I was very offended to be told what to do with my body, as a woman and a guest paying a lot of money to be here and enjoy the amenities .

The security person was only doing his job and he was polite about enforsing this asinine rule. So was Maurice, the manager at front desk, offering me a discount for my experience.

I wish I could say the same about the cold saccharine niceness that Tobias (head manager or something) handled me. He did not acknowledge the fact that nowhere online (or in my confirmation email or in my welcome text) mentioned that once the pool reopens to the public (see above hours), guests no longer have the right to recline in their own lounge chair. Tobias said that these chairs at this point should be able to “fit up to three people each”! He would not acknowledge how this is false advertising, and dug in his heels around making an exception for those people who were not given this information when they made their decision to book the hotel. I imagine this is the case for most of the guests here.

I also found out some dirt about servers not getting their tips unless they meet a minimum. This is word of month from a server. This has got to be illegal.

Otherwise great staff (Kristi and Maurice) and beautiful accommodations. Really a shame about the pinche pool and policy.

Thank you so much to Terrell from Holiday Inn on Wall Street. We had a very difficult night trying to find a hotel and place to rest. It was 2 am and we needed somewhere to rest our heads and checkout in the morning (note to self: always book ahead!) he was extremely accommodating and was able to find a double bedroom for my father and I! So grateful for such and kind a caring soul. Management if you see this, please consider giving Terrell a raise or a promotion! He truly deserves it! -Thank You again Holiday Inn! and we will definitely be returning to this location 🙂

We booked a two double beds room for our vacation. When we arrived, we were told that the hotel was overbooked and they did not have the room we requested for us. They put us in a king bed room, however we had to wait 30 minutes to be checked into our room. The following day we were moved into our correct room. We spoke with the manager to request a refund for the difference, since a King bed room is cheaper than the room we booked. He said that he would help us when we checked out and to come see him. On the day we checked out, Michael (manager) was extremely rude to us. He said you can put your key in the container and leave. We asked about the refund and he said “I already issued it and you will receive a receipt in your email”. Four days later, we had no updated receipt and refund. We had to contact customer service multiple times and spoke with an area manager. We were finally issued a refund.

The manager Michael really made our stay fabulous. He was hospitable and accommodating but just made us feel at home. Location was perfect and easy to get to, rooms were clean and modern. Highly recommend.

Repeat customer and will come back. Another good stay, rooms are decent size for NYC and hotel has a lot of character, definitely better than a generic chain. Nice and quiet (perhaps Wall Street on weekend), slept real well. Close to subways, but good places nearby too, recommend Black Fox coffee for breakfast. Employees were great, Rob at front desk/ bellhop was helpful and made me feel right at home. Enjoyable visit overall.

We have stayed at this hidden gem of a hotel before and it was fabulous, this time was even better (as if that is possible). Wonderful Robert met us at reception and informed us we were upgraded from our booked suite to an enormous suite!!!!!!!! It was lovely. We had a wonderful stay. Robert and all the staff of this hotel are fantastic people and go above and beyond their call of duty. Lovely hotel, pleasant staff. The room was spotless and we couldn't have asked for anything else! BTW: we ate at the Hotel restaurant – Felice which was equally as wonderful. We were not rushed, the wait staff and host were once again brilliant, food and wine were the best and we had 4 courses and then an after dinner drink. Come stay here and give this hotel a try you will definitely NOT be disappointed – Susan McMahon

Second time staying at Gild Hall and second time being pleasantly surprised by the friendly service, and size and quality of rooms especially on this side of town. Even the smallest rooms are spacious and complete, with quality fittings and an amazing bed! Large and comfortable. Bathrooms are clearly designed and with great amenities. AC/heating could do with an update but it works. Service at front desk is friendly and answer any questions quickly. Location is great, close to several metro stations, near Wall St., One WTC, the river, and downtown. Also, lobby smells great, very distinct smell – small detail but important. Will stay here again without a doubt!

Wonderful staff that were extremely accommodating. Couldn't have been happier with the condition of the room and the team going above and beyond for me during my stay.

I really appreciated both the evening staff (arrived at 11:55 pm) and the morning staff when we chatted. It's very hard to find a hotel in New York that is flexible and accommodating on a clients timeline and needs.

I would definitely recommend!!!

Lovely peaceful stay. We had a family room, spacious and very nicely decorated. Location superb for getting everywhere. Staff unobtrusive but gracious and helpful. All in all, highly recommended (thanks 22places for initial steer)

Ps. Water etc no issues at all. Plus we had quite a change in weather and heating coped admirably

Sohotel is a Wonderful Base for a New York Adventure! Donnet and Chandra were kind and professional in helping us rebook twice due to covid. Our stay was perfect and the staff was a delight. The Bowery is a fun area away from tourist traps to explore NYC.

Love this hotel. The location is perfect ( yes can be noisy, put in earplugs). The staff is super friendly. Rooms are clean and have everything you need. No breakfast but who cares when you are in the middle of nolita. Free bikes. Great prices. Comfy beds. 24 hours service.

UPDATED: downgrade to one star because I came home to discover the hotel charged me almost $1,500 that was prepaid by our company's travel agent, necessitating multiple calls to resolve.

I struggle to understand how this is a four-star hotel; perhaps it was when it originally opened or before covid. The rooms feel like clever but down-market versions of what The Standard is doing, but with soundproofing that lets in pretty much all the sound of this part of town at all hours. Bad desk and terrible chair for any kind of work. Inconsistent WiFi. No coffee or any nice things in the room besides what you can buy from the mini bar or accessory drawer. Beds were very comfortable. No breakfast offered or available, no room service, seems like the restaurant attached is only open for dinner. Service is a mixed bag, some people are helpful, others couldn't care less. The NYC Gym access on Mulberry, however, is a big highlight — this place was great. Might stay if it were cheaper for a weekend break, but there are much better hotels for business travel elsewhere at this price.
