This is a beautiful hotel! Friendly staff and good service. Our room was comfortable with a spacious entrance and bathroom. It was quite and we did not hear anyone around us during our stay. The only thing I will say is the bed was too soft for me. More soft than most hotel beds, I like my bed on the firm side. If you like character hotels this is a must stay!

Overall it was good… that's it just good. If you're staying here it better be for convience, the decor, or the jetted tubs. Any other reason doesn't make sense for the price. You can find cheaper priced hotels with better quality rooms. The valet was phenomenal though! Again the hotel isn't terrible. Just wouldn't spend the amount I did on it again.

We rented suites at Hotel Icon to get ready in before our wedding, and they were perfect. They were right next door to each other which was so convenient for pre ceremony photography. We also used them for our hotel block, and all the staff was responsive and our guests enjoyed staying there and chatting at the bar after the wedding!

Nice place to stay with friendly staff willing to assist. Indoor gym with plenty of exercise equipment. A spectacular view from the outdoor lounge. Swimming pool and hot tub in lounge area. A restaurant within the hotel with excellent food and drinks. Right in downtown near plenty of restaurants. The bed was med firm and bedding was adequate to stay comfortable. A nice desk with tempered glass overlay to perform work or writing. Decent wifi to perform business on. Very large oval tub to soak in after a long day. K cup coffee maker in room to wake yourself up. Nice lounge area in lobby to relax while you wait for other guests. Would recommend and stay again.

Had a wonderful stay at the Magnolia Hotel while I was waiting out some renovations at my house. Everyone from the valet to reception was very welcoming and friendly. Best of all, the hotel is dog friendly (no fees either!). Please note, however, that if you need a desk in your room, it's best to call in advance to request one because not all of the rooms have desks despite the pictures online. WiFi worked great for me in the lobby and in the hotel room though. Thanks for a great experience, Magnolia!

The Magnolia Hotel in Houston was a wonderful stay. My wife and I were married in Houston in March 2021 and the hotel bent over backwards to accommodate us and our guests. Andy Ellis made sure all our guests were booked and upgraded my fiancee and my room. The staff was extremely helpful and the rooms were everything we wanted and more. I highly recommend booking with them based on the staff's attentiveness, the history of the hotel, and the location in downtown Houston.

Decent hotel however the customer service was terrible. The couple who was checking in before us was complaining and the couple checking out after us the next morning as well. The staff was completely unwelcoming. We didn’t mind our room and thought about extending a night. When I asked about prices on extending I wasn’t offered any specials or even a smile at the front desk. We changed our mind obviously and checked out. “Breakfast” was poor and the valet takes forever!

Our experience, from the reservation step to the departure adieu, was positive, warm and memorable. Every single member of the staff was not only professional, they were also hospitable. We loved this hotel. The hotel was beautiful and the service was top notch. Our room was so comfortable and quiet, we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. I can’t say enough about their customer service. I left behind a small bag and they understood my urgency to get it back, I had my bag shipped quickly to me. We would definitely stay at the Lancaster again.

My friend and I both got bed bugs staying here last weekend. I had to see a doctor and they confirmed it was bed bugs and prescribed me prescription cream. I have never gotten bed bugs before and I can’t believe I paid this hotel to destroy my body. They are all over my back, both knees and both legs. Beware of bed bugs!! Service was completely terrible. They are under staffed and the front desk NEVER answers their phone despite multiple attempts of calling. The TV remote was also broken, but I couldn't even get through to anyone on the phone to complain. I will never come back.

Beware of this hotel not honoring cancelation policy. I made a reservation that allowed for cancelation by midnight of the next night – canceled the next afternoon – less than 24 hours. For 22 days I have been attempting to get resolve through Marriott (case #3162-78325) -hotel management lied and said I canceled after midnight when I had documentation to the contrary and proved it -they knew they were lying, just wanting my $371.65 for not staying there- they still denied the cancelation. Bottom line is Marriott corporate will make good and will send a check – Marriott Corporate's final statement was “I have no idea why this hotel will not make good, you are correct and your documentation is in order, you did cancel in time and they have that documentation”. Would love to hear from you Management. A look at my reviews will show you I am not one to give bad reviews, but you earned it! – Jan 15 The owner responded to say that, after reviewing, my reservation was prepaid which allows no cancelation. I have added a photo to prove they lied – also Marriott Corporate has confirmed with me that I was in the right – there is another review a month earlier with the same situation. Marriott Owner: Follow Marriott Policy or lose business, your path to choose.

Lovely aesthetic and fashionable decor. The front desk manager Max was magnificent and exceptional. His hospitality was superb, he was able to create friendship with my mother and I , rather than just keeping it strictly business which I loved! The hotel restaurant bistro was phenomenal, the MORNING bartender makes exquisite cocktails and the food is divine. my room was clean, very large and very relaxing. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. My Negative Aspect ⬇️ 🤔 I ordered dinner to go in the evening and the NIGHT shift bartender added a $27 gratuity without asking me or letting me decide how much to tip on a TO-GO order. He didn’t hand me a receipt either until I asked for one. I asked for a receipt so i may tip him until I noticed he already tipped himself. Not very nice to tip yourself on the bill without mentioning it especially when It was a pickup order. And not nice trying to hide the credit card receipt until I asked for one.

What a flophouse! I had to stay there for two nights. The room was very sparsely furnished and equipped. Right after I entered the room, I could see some ugly stains on the carpet next to the desk. The bed was so uncomfortable that I had a pain in my back every morning. There was not even a hairdryer in the room or they just tucked it away from me, so that I could not consume the power. That’s how it felt to me. And I didn’t like the wet and closer coming curtain during taking a shower! The absolute worst thing and experience happened upon check out. As I looked over the bill I saw that they charged me almost $40 for parking! I never ever booked this service or even never did talk to anybody of the hotel staff about it. The most ridiculous fact was, that the female staff member was not able to refund the money for that! She told me, that only the manager can do so, but he or she was not here at this time. How embarrassing is this for a hotel, if they charge you for something you never booked and they are not able or willing to apologize and fix their mistakes! Nevertheless the staff member made some notes and promised to forward the issue on this to the manager, which I was doubting immediately! Nothing happened the days after. Two times I wrote them an e-mail, but they did not even have the manners and decency to answer my messages! Just embarrassing for them. Or nice try to get some extra money. But typical for such an unreliable flophouse! Never ever again for me!

The decor and the inside of the hotel is very nice and immaculately maintained. The staff is very nice. The rooms are spacious. I would definitely stay here again. It's walking distance to restaurants. I definitely recommend the coffeeshop on location but not the restaurant. (I ordered tea with my breakfast. Something like food particles were floating in the teapot in the hot water and the mug was dirty). I was very comfortable while staying here.

Upon arrival, we were met with friendly valet staff. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by John, who did our check-in. This man was extremely friendly and courteous! Every time he saw us, he addressed us by our names! He helped us locate the bar on the second floor to redeem our free drinks as it was raining and the outdoor bar had been closed. We were heading out for the night and forgot our masks and John was more than happy to provide us with some. Everyone we came across was friendly. We will definitely be back! I was at a private event here, so I saw little of the operation. The valet parking was seamless. The food was good, the room setup was good. The audio was weak, but good enough. A challenge to find, complicated by the Rockets game next door at the same time. People who were using a wider range of their facilities over a longer period might give a more enthusiastic rating.

The positives: great location. Near excellent restaurants, parks and downtown attractions. The suite is spacious, a separate living area with sofa and desk. Separate kitchenette, and a door divides the sleeping quarters. The negatives: all corners have dust, 1/4inch of dust (Im allergic, hard to sleep at night). The bathroom metal features are rusted. To include the bathtub fixture and sink frame. Also, there is no Bible tuck away in a drawer (normally use the hotel Bibles to read before going to sleep). Big bang: the hotel only has valet parking which is $44/day. That was not specify during booking. With all the construction nearby (waking us up at 0600) I recommend lowering the parking fee and being forward with the parking options and fees from the beginning.

Great place. This place is amazing. Very nice, shower door is amazing, it swings in or out and very solid. TV in front room and one in bathroom. There could have been more lighting for the photo backdrop. The ceiling pot lights were not enough. The luncheon served was flavorful. Stayed here for New Years weekend. Check in staff was polite and process was easy. Got to the room and it WAS NOT clean! There was a powdered substance on the TV stand! Found the previous guest shoes under the love seat! Mold was present in quite a few areas of the shower! The sink water flow controller was broken! Called housekeeping and they sent someone that tried to repair it but he couldn't. He tried to pretend that he did but it broke again within an hour. No one else ever came back to fix it or clean the shower even after I asked and they agreed to send someone. For the premium marking and price, I expected much much better than this! I've stayed in lesser hotels that were cleaner and had better customer service!

We stayed at Hilton Americas one night for a New Year's Eve party at this hotel. The check-in process went smoothly. While getting dressed for the party we discovered that there was no ironing board in the room and the safe was still locked by a previous guest. We called guest services but there was no answer. We then called housekeeping but there was no answer there either. We finally got in touch with a concierge who was able to call housekeeping to bring an ironing board and call security to unlock the safe. These items should be discovered by housekeeping prior to having a guest be inconvenienced. We also found a very large fake eyelash in the room. The next morning we discovered that there was only one coffee cup left in the room for two people. The above inconveniences are not what one would expect when staying at a “premium” hotel. Finally, when checking out we discovered that we were charged more for valet parking than what the e-mail confirmation we had received said it would cost. The staff member told us that the e-mail had old information and they would not charge the lower price as quoted. I guess the customer isn't always right according to Hilton.

I would've rated this hotel a 5 star if it weren't for them 1. Placing a hold on my card for $136 instead of $50. 2. Doubling that amount to $272.00 after discussing the previous hold error with a front desk representative who assured me that the amount would drop off and it was their mistake. The stay was awesome! Loved the breakfast, Jacuzzi and pool. The room was clean and comfortable and the employees personalities were Great! It is however not a small thing to make charging errors on customer accounts that can cause financial disruption and simply say” Oops,l! don't worry, it'll drop off” The reality is the time it takes can be the difference Lights on or off in a person's home. There is a reason why people pay in advance for a stay. So this aspect has to change and quickly!

Ugh, this place was pretty old & gross in a sketchy side of town. The toilet handle had to be held down in order for it to flush. There was gross old carpet in the room. The bathroom was not the best & we were not given enough TP. No fan in the bathroom, who does that !? Oh our favourite was the nightclub across the street. We were booming until 2am. The pool was pretty gross too, You had reserve your time, only for an HR. Breakfast was good & you can grab whatever for later. Pillows & bed were very comfortable I must say.

If I was rating simply on the bar service then Kevin earned 5 stars. Both our burger at the bar and steak at the wedding were well done. Food was very much a negative. Breakfast was buffet, eggs and waffles were cold and no option to heat up or to get something fresh. Transportation to/from the airport was very expensive. Avoid the limo option which was supposed to be at taxi prices but ended up 50% more cost. And make sure you request turn down especially if staying more than one night. Otherwise, no one will remind you whether you want it or not. We will consider another option when staying in Houston.

Older hotel but nicely renovated. They had a “skeleton” crew but they were so very attentive you would have never known. Great location and they had valet parking. Central to everything we had planned for the weekend

Great hotel for downtown stays…staff is very engaged, rooms are cleaned very well each day of your stay and the breakfast is tasty and cost effective. Rooms are very comfortable and we have really enjoyed all of our stays at this gem of a hotel.

The management at this hotel care nothing for their guests and care nothing about any concerns you bring to their attention. My car was damaged in their valet and I spoke with GM Chris. He was extremely rude and dismissive of my issue and did not want to talk to me about it. This man’s patience is far too easily exhausted for someone that works with the public. Beware when you stay here because they will sacrifice their integrity to save a few dollars

Centrally located in the downtown area. Convenient to the theater district and the ballparks. Good eating conveniently located within a several block area. The trolley runs right outside with a stop at the front door.

The hotel rooms are clean and neat. the reception is quick to attend and the staff is polite to guests. the rooms have a kitchen so you can make yourself food during your stay. breakfast is meager for the price of the room you would expect a bit more, they include too many sweets and there are few healthy food options. there is a gym with some exercise machines although it is a very small enclosure. it is well connected to the city center through urban bus lines.

We had an amazing time with our group of ladies tonight. Service was good. Some of the appetizers weren’t super great, but the entrees were on point. We totally loved the location and outside decor. The weather was lovely, the outdoor seating area was perfect for after dinner chats. The ambience is good here.

After thinking about our experience for the last couple days, I believe it would be best to let all know what transpired for us during our (6):birthday celebration. During the reservation process we were required to place a $100.00 deposit and were required to have a bill of $480.00 minimum. Our reservation was at 5:30 PM for 13 people, we were advised that we could not sit down until at least 50% of our party had arrive. We had 80% at 5:15 PM, I advised the arrival clerk that we were ready to be seated, she told us that they were preparing the table and it would be ready in about 5 minutes. At 5:40 PM, i asked why we haven't been seated she stated that someone in our sitting area would not leave, and we would have to wait until they left. That was unacceptable, due to the fact that we were told that we were going to have a private room. The server was good, considering that he and he alone waited on us. When we requested the check, the $100.00 deposit was not credited to the balance. If it had not been questioned, we truly believe that they would have just kept the reservation deposit. They sent two managers out to explain what happened, they were not professional at all, and need to be re-trained on how to interact with their guests. The check stated that the 18% gratuity was preferred, but we were advised that the amount was mandatory. The server never came back to the table to say thank you for coming or any other comment after we questioned the deposit mishap. They need to upgrade their “guest services”, until we read that there has been improvement in this regard, we will not be returning.

A smaller aquarium, but still quite nice. There are many species of fish and also a few reptiles, insects, and even a tiger. The habitats seem good for most of the Animals. The tiger area might be a bit small for that big guy however. There is an interactive section where you can touch some stingrays which is pretty cool. There's also some amusement park rides out back. Overall, it's a small but well maintained aquarium doing good with the space they have. A nice place to spend an afternoon with your family.

First of all, I loved the fish here. They have some adorable/interesting fish and I love that the aquarium is on a walking/biking trail so you can explore downtown. However, I can’t help but feel like some of the tanks here were too small. We saw one medium sized eel in a tank slightly larger than the length of his body. The tiger was neat but seemed very out of place for an aquarium. We went on a Wednesday and it was decently packed so I couldn’t imagine attending on a weekend. No one checked our tickets to enter. There are very few digital signs to explain the fish you’re looking at. The restaurants prices are incredibly overpriced. It is $16 for a burger and you have to pay extra to upgrade from kettle chips to fries. The burger was one of the least expensive items on the menu. For being so expensive, the restaurant felted very outdated. The fish tank view was nice though. We had a gift voucher from a relative but we made sure to use it up because we definitely will not be back.

I’ve been coming here for years to make a trip out of being downtown and because it’s the closest location to my home. NOT again unless they do a makeover. The crew flipped the lights on during the credits yesterday and we were able to see just how disgusting the entire theater is. There’s always a musky smell and our sinuses act up during the movie. The seats literally have holes (large holes) in them exposing the foam below the fabric. There is an obvious lack of cleaning in and around the seats and below the seats and the floors are always sticky. The bathrooms are a whole other world of gross. I expect most theaters to be a place that’s a bit…run down, but this is truly a reminder of why we rarely come to this location. The sad thing is, seeing the staff write reviews for their own theater and stating that they want better reviews but not actually paying a crew to clean the theaters or restrooms fully (even an overnight outsourced janitorial service once every two weeks). Y’all CLEAN this place or you’re going down for good. We love movie theaters, but if the price is the same you know we are going to choose a cleaner option with recliners. Why not do something about it?

I've been coming here for 6 years now and I know movie chains are on the decline and it's hard to get staff right now, but for the last five times I've come, there has been an issue with projection/presentation every single time. This is not an exaggeration. One time it's the house lights kept on, another time curtains weren't pulled all the way blocking, another time misaligned projection so subtitles weren't visible. $13 is a lot of money for many of us to see a movie, so presenting the movie correctly should be a priority. I'm grateful we have a movie theater downtown and one willing to show smaller releases, but my god it's been a running joke playing “not it” on who gets to speak to the staff member to fix these basic issues.

This is a beautiful hotel! Friendly staff and good service. Our room was comfortable with a spacious entrance and bathroom. It was quite and we did not hear anyone around us during our stay.

Upon arrival, we were met with friendly valet staff. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by John, who did our check-in. This man was extremely friendly and courteous! I was at a private event here, so I saw little of the operation. The valet parking was seamless. The food was good, the room setup was good. The audio was weak, but good enough.

Breakfast was amazing and had enough room for people to sit and was not crowed. My only issue was the tops of the table seems sticky I'm not really sure the rags were in soap and water when they wiped them down to disinfect.

We were there for our award winning author being published in the iWrite Anthology 9. A book for kids by kids. It was very easy to navigate to and park. The reception area was lovely. There could have been more lighting for the photo backdrop. The ceiling pot lights were not enough. The luncheon served was flavorful. Servers need a little more training, but overall pleasant lunch service. Sound system was excellent to hear presenters, guest speakers, and emcees.

Enjoyed our stay. The bar and food was great. The staff was very attentive. Shout out to the lady working last night, I called front desk that my a/c wasn’t working in the middle of the night. She moved us immediately, brought my key up and was so kind. We were very tired and her making it so easy for us not to have to get out of our pajamas was what we appreciated the most. True customer service. Thanks ma’am, I’ll definitely be back knowing you and your staff are very welcoming.

Nice set up love the different atmosphere. It was very quiet but lively at the same time. I had a view of downtown from my room (wish the windows were a little bigger). Comfortable bed and nice bathtub. I would visit again.

Best location for the marathon experience. Very well handled for guests and athletes. Great early check in, and late check out experiences made it easy to participate in the day without any added stress to leaving while the event was going on. Will recommend for future!
